NIGHTFALL

A solo performer channelling a series of female characters: a story of transition and metamorphosis set in a semi-autobiographical framework.  Weaving together elements of both ancient and contemporary female figures in a symbolic voyage through historical, cultural and psychological terrain, it is a navigation through darkness and light to search for new ways of understanding my own creative journey.

Pale, like the shadow of grief

Paper-thin, transparent

The underlying structure that underpins you

showing through as true shape.

And your bones, stark revealed

Like waiting sharks under the surface.

Tired face as you shut out the world

I fear for you, who are dear to me

But it seems the world is too much for you to bear.

Pale, like the shadow of grief

Paper-thin, transparent

The underlying truth.

I left the window open

And my mind was falling, falling

The stars were on the ground.

The night is dark

The night is burning

How many miles to Babylon?
