I’m very pleased to announce the launch of two new albums - Islands of the North and Silence - at 6pm on Sunday 29th September at the Glad Cafe, Glasgow!

Written for solo piano, Islands of the North began as a commission for a live film score, and was inspired by my experience of living and travelling in the northern islands of Scotland, places where the sea and the weather are ever-present, powerful forces. Recorded on a beautiful old Bechstein piano, the album pays homage to the soundtracks of the silent film era.

Silence combines evocative vocals, the rich sound of a grand piano, and orchestral violin textures. Written between Scotland and Australia, it navigates a journey out of creative silence and across the world, exploring endings and beginnings, loss and change. Featuring 7 original songs, as well as an interpretation of the traditional folk song Black is the Colour, the album ranges in mood from the contemplative opening track Falling to the dark melancholy of Last Waltz, culminating in the rhythmic drive and sweeping interludes of the title track Silence.

Islands of the North and Silence were recorded in the Outer Hebrides at Black Bay Studio, one of Europe's most remote recording studios.

Both albums will be available exclusively on Bandcamp as digital releases.
